Setting up

This page will guide you on how to clone the Selv repository and setup its dependencies.

Prerequisites

In order to be able to build the Tauri application and its python backend, you will need the following :

System:

  • Windows: 8 and newer
  • Linux: Various system dependencies listed here

Setting up:

Section titled “Setting up:”

  1. Get into the folder where you want the Selv repository to be cloned

  2. Clone the repository

    git clone https://github.com/Knockerr/selv.git

  3. Get into the cloned repository

    cd ./selv

  4. Install node dependencies

    npm i

  5. Install python dependencies in a virual env.

    Windows:
    Section titled “Windows:”
    cd ./backend
    py -m venv .venv; .\.venv\Scripts\Activate.ps1
    python -m pip install --upgrade pip; pip install -r requirements.txt
    Linux:
    Section titled “Linux:”
    cd ./backend
    python3  -m venv .venv && source .venv/bin/activate
    python -m pip install --upgrade pip; pip install -r requirements.txt

  6. You are all set!
